HOW TO PROPERLY CLEAN OUR QUIK STAGE PORTABLE STAGES WITH QUAD RIPPLE POLYVINYL SURFACE

I think we get asked this question more than anything else about our portable staging and we have a very “simple” and easy solution to properly clean your Quik Stage portable stage deck with the black Quad Ripple polyvinyl deck surface.

Our black polyvinyl Quad Ripple deck surface is the most popular surface we sell on a daily basis as it is easy to maintain, holds up well under heavy use, affordable and looks great. The Quad Ripple surface has a surface of bumps on the deck surface that provides some nonskid protection plus it helps hide the scratches that happen from everyday use. Although the Quad Ripple bumps serve a valuable purpose, they can be a little difficult to clean if you don’t know how to do it properly here is a quick and easy solution to help you clean those stage decks the right way.

The first thing you want to do is get yourself a plastic spray bottle at any Wal-Mart, Target or hardware, some “Simple Green” soap or cleaning solution and finally a nylon soft bristle hand brush. Make sure it has the soft bristles. Please see pictures below of what we use.
Fill the spray bottle with plain water and then add a couple of capfuls of simple green to the water, replace the top of your spray bottle and shake the bottle to mix it up.

Remember, Simple Green comes highly concentrated so don’t use too much or you get excessive suds.
Spray the stage deck surface with some of the solutions you made being careful not to use too much as it goes a long way. Then take the hand brush and start brushing the stage surface making sure to brush the whole surface in multiple directions to ensure you are getting it clean.
At this point, you are going to see the surface turn a little white from the simple green and you will be questioning why we would ever tell you to do it this way but trust us when we tell you this works as the surface will dry perfectly clean in a few minutes. That’s it, you’re done.

Once your deck surface dries, you will end up with a clean and nice looking surface again ready to use. For larger stages, you could choose to use a soft bristle broom instead of a hand brush, but we prefer to use the hand brush in our factory as it works well and it is quick and easy. You can also use the hand brush and spray solution to clean the sides of the stage frame where dust or dirt may have collected over time and you will be amazed how nice the aluminum cleans up using the same solution.

    What not to use:
  • Armor All protecting that you use on your cars. This will run your surface into a skating rink which is not a good idea!
  • Degreasers. The harsh chemicals will damage the surface and black color.
  • Waxes of any kind Do not attempt to paint your surface. It is not designed to hold paint.
